GrafanaSight release notes — September 2026
Released: 2026-09-03
Summary
Section titled “Summary”This release adds evidence-backed incident response and reliability reviews, plus permission-aware Dashboard Impact for discovering where Grafana dashboards and panels are referenced in Confluence.
New features
Section titled “New features”- Incident Workspace: Create an unpublished Confluence incident draft from a visible Grafana alert after reviewing its destination, evidence selection, and absolute evidence window.
- Durable incident evidence: Preserve selected panel images and integrity details on the generated Confluence page so completed evidence can remain available when live Grafana rendering is unavailable.
- Reliability reviews: Resolve an incident and prepare bounded Before, During, and Recovery evidence for a human-authored postmortem.
- Review lifecycle: Finalize a reliability review with explicit acknowledgements, reopen an incident with a reason, and preserve earlier evidence cycles and history.
- Dashboard Impact: Discover authorized Confluence pages that reference a selected Grafana dashboard or panel. First use starts an asynchronous, bounded build rather than scanning the full Grafana catalogue in advance.
Bug fixes and improvements
Section titled “Bug fixes and improvements”- Captured alert facts remain separate from editable current incident status, severity, and owner.
- Archived evidence is preserved during page-level refresh and is not silently replaced by a later live rendering.
- Dashboard search retains typing focus, alert navigation stays bounded, and incident evidence previews respond to inclusion choices.
- Panel rendering handles foreground limits more reliably and avoids presenting renderer overload images as valid panel evidence.
- Grafana and Confluence navigation links are normalized to supported, safe destinations.
- Dashboard Impact retains the last valid result during recoverable failures and omits referenced pages the current user cannot access.
- Incident Workspace failures display a short support reference to help Flowdence investigate without exposing incident content.
- Alert and Impact controls, preview actions, and incident evidence layouts have improved desktop and zoomed-width presentation.
Scope changes
Section titled “Scope changes”- Coverage Gaps and its organization-wide completeness model are removed and replaced by on-demand Dashboard Impact.
- The app requires additional Confluence permissions to read content summaries and users, create and update incident pages, and read or create evidence attachments on behalf of the initiating user.
Admin action required
Section titled “Admin action required”An Atlassian administrator must approve the updated app permissions when upgrading. After approval, no dashboard or incident-evidence migration is required.
Known limitations
Section titled “Known limitations”- Dashboard Impact reports references visible to the current user; different users may receive different complete result sets based on Confluence permissions.
- Initial Dashboard Impact results are non-conclusive while the on-demand index is building.
- Reliability-review capture is limited to three panels, nine images per cycle, and three preserved review cycles. Failed captures are recorded as permanent gaps rather than filled later.
- Confluence administrators retain native control over pages and attachments. Recorded integrity details can reveal later changes but do not prevent privileged modification.
- Live panel rendering depends on the connected Grafana rendering capability. Friendly metadata or recent-snapshot fallback can appear when rendering is unavailable.
