Release notes 2026 05 18

This initial GrafanaSight release helps Confluence teams replace stale dashboard screenshots with live Grafana Cloud context. Space admins can connect a Confluence space to Grafana Cloud, then users can embed panels, dashboard summaries, alert health, status badges, and annotation timelines directly in runbooks and incident pages.

  • Grafana Cloud space configuration so each Confluence space can use its own Grafana Cloud URL and service account token.
  • Panel snapshot macros with detailed and compact display modes, manual refresh controls, and relative or absolute time ranges.
  • Dashboard overview and dashboard library views so teams can browse folders, tags, dashboards, panels, and alert context from Confluence.
  • Alert-focused macros, including alert summaries, status badges, and annotation timelines for operational pages.
  • Page-level Grafana refresh controls that refresh supported GrafanaSight macros on a Confluence page and report refreshed or failed counts.
  • A service-health byline popup that surfaces active Grafana alert health and opens the GrafanaSight dashboard on the Alerts tab when review is needed.
  • A cache-first GrafanaSight Rovo Specialist that answers questions from synced dashboard and alert data and calls out freshness when data may be stale.
  • Paid-via-Atlassian Marketplace licensing support with license checks around paid app surfaces and Grafana data access.
  • Setup guidance now explains what to do after saving credentials, including first sync and partial-sync states.
  • Settings actions are disabled while save, test, load, or refresh operations are running so admins do not accidentally start conflicting requests.
  • Grafana token handling avoids returning stored token identifiers to the client-facing configuration view.
  • Cached panel rendering can fall back to a recent snapshot when live rendering is unavailable, while still preserving freshness context.
  • Rovo and macro experiences use cached data where appropriate so common Confluence views stay responsive.
  • Connection-test rate limiting now tracks reset timing explicitly, reducing confusing repeated validation failures.
  • Settings validation errors avoid exposing low-level Forge transport wording to admins.
  • Failed or partial sync runs no longer overwrite the last successful sync state.
  • Panel rendering preserves absolute time ranges that start at epoch 0.
  • Invalid configured panel IDs are rejected before rendering.
  • Alert summaries, dashboard overviews, and annotation timelines now handle refresh errors more clearly.
  • For a new installation, install GrafanaSight from the Atlassian Marketplace, open GrafanaSight Space Settings in the target Confluence space, add the Grafana Cloud instance URL and service account token, test the connection, then load dashboards and alerts.
  • For existing development or evaluation installations, review the space configuration after upgrading and run a dashboard and alert refresh so macros, Rovo answers, and service-health views use current cached data.
  • GrafanaSight is built for Confluence Cloud and Grafana Cloud.
  • The app uses read-only Grafana API access and egress limited to Grafana Cloud hosts.
  • Paid Marketplace licensing is enabled. Unlicensed or expired installations may see setup, macro, refresh, Rovo, or data-access surfaces blocked until licensing is valid.
  • Space-level Grafana configuration is required before dashboards, alerts, macros, Rovo answers, and service-health views can return live or cached Grafana data.
  • Rovo answers are grounded in GrafanaSight cache data. Refresh dashboards and alerts when teams need the latest operational state.
  • GrafanaSight does not create Confluence incident or postmortem pages automatically from Rovo responses in this release.
  • Live panel rendering depends on the connected Grafana Cloud instance and render endpoint availability. A recent cached panel snapshot may be shown when live rendering fails.
  • Macro auto-conversion depends on Confluence editor behavior. If a pasted Grafana URL does not convert, insert the matching GrafanaSight macro manually and configure it with the same URL details.
  • Compact macro layouts can still be affected by Confluence page layout and available column width.
  • Verified product documentation covers setup, configuration, macros, dashboard and alert views, page refresh, annotation timelines, global navigation, Rovo usage, tutorials, support, and uninstallation.
  • Verified release behavior with lint, unit tests, static Custom UI builds, Forge lint, and docs-site build checks.
  • Verified the public docs import and navigation checks so GrafanaSight documentation links resolve under the public docs site.
