Work Type Safety

Work Type Safety policies select Jira Software projects, source work types, target work types, and Block or Monitor mode.

  • Block prevents governed unsafe type changes on Jira surfaces supported by the ChangeGuard action validator.
  • Monitor evaluates and reports without enforcing a block.
  • UI preflight can add earlier guidance, but the Jira action validator is the final enforcement layer.

Test both blocked and allowed expectations before publishing. Waivers do not bypass the expression-only Work Type Safety action validator; use a reviewed policy change if a temporary runtime exception is required.
