ApprovalFlow release notes — July 2026

ApprovalFlow now helps teams keep approved Confluence content current with scheduled recertification and clearer approval lifecycle controls.

  • Scheduled recertification: Admins can configure optional review periods of 90, 180, or 365 days with reminder windows from 1 to 90 days.
  • Due and expired states: Pages and the Approval Queue clearly identify approvals that are due for review or have expired while keeping the underlying Confluence content available.
  • Repeated review cycles: Recertification reuses the page’s assigned workflow and preserves earlier review cycles for audit history.
  • Request cancellation: Original submitters can cancel their own pending approval requests after confirmation.
  • Assignment clearing: Space admins can clear a page’s assigned workflow and associated approval state through a confirmed action.
  • Decision comments: Approval and rejection comments show accurate limits and prevent submissions above 280 characters; rejection comments still require at least 20 characters.
  • Readable lifecycle states: Cancelled approvals display a stable, readable status.
  • Safer space administration: Assignment changes stay within the selected space and remain reliable in large spaces.
  • All-or-nothing clearing: If approval cleanup cannot complete, the workflow assignment remains unchanged instead of leaving a partial result.
  • Privacy-safe exports: Audit and analytics views and exports use readable page, person, and space context rather than raw identifiers.
  • Clearer empty and unresolved states: Unresolved people and spaces use neutral labels, and Approval Queue empty states use natural language.

None. This release requests no new Atlassian permissions.

Most sites need no admin action. To use scheduled recertification, edit a workflow and enable a review period and reminder window. If an export integration used the former Page ID or account ID columns, update it to use the human-readable fields that remain.

  • Recertification reminders are processed daily and are not intended for delivery at an exact minute.
  • Existing approvals without a review policy remain approved and are not recalculated automatically.
  • Clearing a page assignment intentionally removes its associated approval lifecycle state and always requires confirmation.
